Whole cluster natural fermentation, stalks and all give this wine its backbone and it ably accompanied with plentiful red fruit, perfume and spiciness. Think SAs answer to superb cru Beaujolais.
Kabbelend Cinsault is a fresh, medium-bodied red from South Africa’s Swartland region, made with a light touch to showcase the natural brightness and elegance of old-vine Cinsault. The name “Kabbelend” (translates to "gently rippling") reflects the easy-drinking, relaxed character of the wine, crafted for enjoyment with or without food.
Bright aromas of redcurrant, wild strawberry, and dried herbs. The palate is silky and juicy, with crunchy red fruit, a touch of spice, and soft tannins. Best served slightly chilled.
Contains sulphites.
Kabbelend is produced by a small-scale project using dry-farmed bush vines grown on granite soils in the Swartland. The wine is naturally fermented in old oak and bottled without fining, capturing Cinsault’s aromatic lift and delicate structure. It’s a great example of the new wave of South African reds: honest, unfussy, and seriously drinkable.
