Gerard Bertrand Clos du Temple 2018

Gérard Bertrand Clos du Temple Rosé 2018 is a distinguished rosé wine from the historic terroir of Cabrières in the Languedoc region of southern France. This biodynamic wine is crafted from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Viognier grapes, cultivated at an altitude of 240 metres on schist and limestone soils. The vineyard practices biodynamic agriculture, employing horses and mules to work the land, thereby strengthening the connection between the mineral, plant, animal, and human worlds. Harvesting is done by hand at dawn to preserve the freshness of the grapes. The wine undergoes fermentation at low temperatures, followed by maturation in new French oak barrels for six months on fine lees with yeast stirring. The result is a rosé of exceptional balance, freshness, and ageing potential.
