A beautiful Hermitage, exuding class and charm at such an early age. Concentrated, with plenty of tannin, integrated acidity and loads of black and blue fruits, graphite and crushed herbs. To savour now, or for the next 20 years.
Delas Frères Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes 2016 is a powerful yet refined Northern Rhône red made from 100% Syrah. Deep ruby in colour, it offers concentrated aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum, with classic Hermitage notes of black pepper, violet, liquorice and smoked meat. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with firm but polished tannins, bright acidity and a long, savoury finish. The 2016 vintage provides an excellent combination of concentration and freshness, with plenty of life ahead.

The Domaine des Tourettes vineyards sit on the steep granite slopes of Hermitage, where some vines are difficult to work mechanically and much of the vineyard work is carried out by hand. The site takes its name from the small medieval chapel of Saint-Christophe that overlooks the Rhône valley. Hermitage's reputation for long-lived Syrah is such that well-made examples can continue developing for decades, gradually moving from intense dark fruit and pepper towards leather, tobacco and savoury complexity.
