Soft, perfumed and delicate Barolo from the sandy soils of Serralunga d'Alba. Crisp red berry fruits and dried roses lead the way with cloves and tar to follow.
Melo Tenuta Cucco Barolo DOCG is a red wine from the Barolo appellation in Piedmont, Italy, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The vineyards are in Serralunga d'Alba, known for its clay-limestone soils and ideal altitude, contributing to the wine’s structure and aging potential. The wine is aged 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 12 months in bottle, allowing it to develop complexity and elegance.
This Barolo offers aromas of withered rose, undergrowth, prunes, licorice, and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm tannins and lively acidity, balanced by sweet fruit notes and evolved hints of tobacco and dried herbs. The finish is long and persistent.
Contains sulphites.
Tenuta Cucco, located in Serralunga d'Alba, has been producing Barolo since the 1960s. Since its acquisition by the Rossi Cairo family in 2015, the estate has embraced organic farming practices, certified since 2018. This commitment to sustainability, combined with the unique terroir of Serralunga’s clay-limestone soils, results in a Barolo that balances power and finesse, expressing true Nebbiolo character with remarkable aging potential.
