Big, beautiful, structured Ribera del Duero, with enormous blackberry and cherry flavour underpinned by herbaceous depth. Will open in the decanter, or has years to come.
24 months in French and American oak barrels. From vines located at an altitude higher than 900 m. (3.000 feet) above the sea level in Pesquera de Duero. Limestone rocky soil with limited yields. Produced from old vine fruit (45-100 years old). Flagship wine.
This wine has a great personality. Deep red-cherry color with cardinal rim. Great aromatic complexity, with outstanding well-ripe dark fruits (blackcurrant) aromas, dried plums notes, all this well integrated with refined spicy notes (cloves and cinnamon) and cacao, from its rest in french oak barrels. Silky, delicate and intense on the palate, with lingering and elegant finish.
Contains sulfites.
The history of Tamaral cannot be understood without explaining why it was started. It was created to produce crianzas and reservas. All wines are made with 100% tempranillo, a variety of red grape grown in the Rioja and Ribera del Duero region to produce full-bodied red wines from Spain, where the variety originates. Over the years we have developed various types of wines, adapting the vine to the different types of soils and plots that we have on our estate. Ribera del Duero was only officially established as a wine region in the 1980s
