This wine comes from a fourth generation family owned estate based in the Maranges appellation. It sees 20% new oak and displays aromas of white flowers, apples, stone fruit and a touch of spice. The palate is balanced with a lovely notes of yellow fruit and a racy acidity.
Domaine Bertrand Bachelet Chassagne-Montrachet is a dry white wine from the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from two vineyards, La Canière and Les Lombardes, the wine reflects the iron-rich clay and limestone soils characteristic of the area. The grapes are gently pressed without prior crushing, and the must is placed directly into barrels after light settling. The wine is aged for 16 months, including 12 months in traditional 228-litre Burgundian barrels, 20% of which are new oak.
Golden colour with a soft, floral nose complemented by spicy notes. On the palate, it is ample and harmonious, combining freshness and tension.
Contains sulphites.
The Chassagne-Montrachet appellation is located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune and is known for its varied soil types, characterised by the presence of iron oxide, which imparts a red-brown colour to the soil. This unique soil composition contributes to the distinctive character of the wines produced in this region.
