Espigouette Plan de Dieu is a rich and characterful red from the Southern Rhône, made in the village- level appellation Plan de Dieu. It delivers depth and warmth, reflecting the sun-soaked vineyards and stony soils of the region.
Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and dried herbs. The palate is generous, with flavours of plum, spice, and a touch of liquorice, supported by fine tannins and a long, warming finish.
Contains sulphites.
The name “Plan de Dieu,” meaning “Plain of God,” dates back to the Middle Ages, when travellers feared crossing the wild and desolate plateau. Today, those same gravelly soils produce concentrated, powerful reds, and Domaine de l’Espigouette is a family estate known for capturing both the generosity and rustic charm of this historic appellation.
