This 10 year old Fronsac still punches above its weight - a pure Merlot red that delights with its bold, fruity developed notes of leather and cigar box.
Château Puy Guilhem 2010 is a mature, Merlot-dominant red from the Fronsac appellation on Bordeaux’s right bank. Aged in oak and cellared before release, this vintage offers the depth and complexity that comes with over a decade of ageing, while retaining the structure and elegance typical of Fronsac’s limestone-rich soils.
Developed aromas of black cherry, leather, cedar, and dried herbs. The palate is supple and layered, with notes of plum, tobacco, and earthy spice, balanced by refined tannins and a long, savoury finish.
Contains sulphites.
Château Puy Guilhem is owned by the same family behind Château Vieux Chevrol and is known for producing traditionally styled Bordeaux with excellent ageing potential. The 2010 vintage was one of the best of the decade, and this release—aged at the estate until perfectly mature—offers a rare chance to enjoy a ready-to-drink, cellared Fronsac at its peak.
