Our latest import from Bordeaux, this silky smooth, ripe black berry blend comes from just outside St Emilion. A rich wine with good structure, you can enjoy this now or over the next 5 years.
Château Moulin Macquin is a classic Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion blend, made primarily from Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc. It’s a traditionally styled Bordeaux with a supple structure, offering ripe fruit and subtle oak influence from time spent in French barrels.
Black cherry, plum, and cassis on the nose, with hints of cedar and dried tobacco. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with fine tannins, dark berry fruit, and a touch of graphite on the finish.
Contains sulphites.
The “Macquin” in the name is a nod to Albert Macquin, a local viticulturist who helped save Bordeaux’s vineyards from phylloxera in the 19th century. Though not directly connected to his estate, Château Moulin Macquin honours that legacy with wines rooted in tradition and resilience.
