Sorbaiano Pian del Conte

85% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon grown at altitude on the Tuscan slopes. Aged in oak barrels for 12 months. Sorbaiano is a small family winery located in Tuscany, in the province of Pisa. Its vineyards are south-southwest oriented in a hilltop position at about 350mt asl and the proximity of the seaside. Its favourable geographical position gives Sorbaiano the possibility to realize its target since its foundation: a high-quality production. Respect for nature and the continuous search for the best production processes are the millstones in its more than 60 years history as family winemakers

Fresh, elegant, fruity, with notes of cherry and plum. Dry and harmonious, with soft and silky tannins, good structure and long-lasting on the palate.

Sangiovese is derived from the Latin Sanguis Jovis which literally means "Jupiter's blood". Legend says that the name was coined by the monks of the city of Santarcangelo Di Romagna and that it refers to the Roman god Jupiter.
