100% Frappato from vines growing on clay/gravel soils in Trapani, north west Sicily. The wine is fermented at low temperatures with no oak influence, to preserve the pure fruit character.
Aromas of red berries, plums and black cherries, with hints of violet and pomegranate. This is a red that can be served lightly chilled.
Contains sulphites.
DNA typing shows that there is a genetic relationship between Frappato and Sangiovese; it is likely that Frappato is the result of a crossing of Sangiovese with another, so far unidentified, grape variety.
