This fantastically delicate, mineral and complex Chardonnay from the cooler Santa Rita Hills AVA would be hard to pick out even amongst the best of the Cote d'Or. It has white blossom, orchard fruit, chalky minerality and crisp acidity. Did we mention how long the finish is?
Sandhi Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay is a dry white wine from California's Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from estate vineyards, including Domaine de la Côte and River Fall, the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 11 months in 500L puncheons followed by 3 months in tank. This approach highlights the region's cool climate and the winery's commitment to organic farming practices .
Aromas of Meyer lemon peel, raw ginger, honey, and green apple, underpinned by crushed white rock. The palate is bright and fresh, featuring citrus and pear flavours complemented by beeswax notes, leading to a silky finish with a touch of saline .
Contains sulphites.
Sandhi Wines, co-founded by sommelier Rajat Parr and winemaker Sashi Moorman, focuses on producing wines that reflect the distinct characteristics of the Sta. Rita Hills region. Their emphasis on organic farming and minimal intervention winemaking allows the Chardonnay to express its origin authentically .
