Reflektief Palomino

Reflektief Palomino is a fresh and distinctive South African white made from 100% Palomino, the grape more commonly associated with Sherry. Produced from old vines in Paarl, it is pale and delicate, with aromas of white flowers, green fennel and a touch of almond. The palate is crisp and lightly textured, with bright freshness and a distinctive saline finish that gives the wine plenty of character.

The grapes come from Palomino vines planted in 1977, originally intended for use in brandy production rather than fine table wine. That makes the wine an interesting South African take on a grape most people associate with the fortified wines of Jerez. The vines are naturally low-yielding, producing concentrated fruit, while the wine's pronounced saline character makes it particularly good with seafood.
