A delightful harmony of citrus fruit and saline minerality is lifted with summer floral notes on the nose. Crisp, refreshing and organic, it's very easy to love.
Verdicchio di Matelica Colpaola 2021 is a crisp and characteristically fresh white wine from the Matelica region in Marche, Italy. Crafted by Agricola Tenuta Colpaola, this wine is made from 100% Verdicchio grapes sourced from vineyards situated at 650 metres above sea level, making them the highest in the Matelica denomination. The estate practices organic farming, and the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure quality. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh and authentic character.
This wine presents a pale golden yellow hue. On the nose, it offers aromas of white flowers, citrus peel, and subtle herbal notes. The palate is dry and savoury, with flavours of green apple, lemon zest, and a touch of bitter almond. The wine is marked by lively acidity and classic minerality, leading to a long, persistent finish with a saline note.
Contains sulphites.
The Porcarelli family has owned the Tenuta Colpaola estate since the 1970s. After years of selling grapes to the local co-operative, they began bottling their own wines in 2013. Their dedication to preserving the freshness and authenticity of Verdicchio is evident in this wine, which reflects the unique character of the Matelica region.
