Conjure up memories of summer holidays with this crisp, refreshing Vermentino, perfect with fish and seafood dishes.
A great example of the Italian Vermentino grape from France's outstanding Languedoc-based Xavier Roger. Picked in the cool of the dawn and early evening, the Vermentino grapes are brought to the winery, sorted, and then pressed before the clear juice is settled in steel tanks and chilled to clear any solids. The juice is then fermented at a cool 13 degrees for 3 weeks, with the aim to preserve the natural vibrancy, freshness and peach character of the grape. After fermentation is finished the wine is racked through a series of tanks to clear any lees, before a light filtration and bottling.
Pale lemon in appearance with citrus, apricot and gentle floral aromas. . Ripe peach, and tropical notes on the palate. A fruity easy drinking style with good, balanced acidity. Crisp and refreshing.
Contains sulphites
Produced at Cebazan in the heart of the Languedoc just inland from Beziers, this wine from the well-regarded Vermentino variety is a classic of the region, served regularly with seafood dishes, its bright acidity and citrus and pear flavours marrying well with the local Scallops, after which this is named. Certified vegan.
