Lovely substance of ripe red fruits. Velvety and rich but fresh and enticing.
Domaine de Montangeron Fleurie is a red wine from the Beaujolais region, produced by Frédéric Montangeron. The estate, established in 1996, covers 20.5 hectares across several Beaujolais crus, with Fleurie as its main focus. This wine is crafted from 60-year-old Gamay vines planted on granitic and sandy soils, delivering a pure expression of the Fleurie terroir.
The wine shows a dark carmine red colour, with aromas of iris, blackcurrant, violet, and subtle rose notes. On the palate, it is elegant and silky, with a fleshy body and a charming, rounded profile. It is unoaked to highlight the purity of the fruit and mineral character of the soil.
Contains sulphites.
The name "Fleurie" comes from a Roman legionary rather than flowers. This cru is unique in that its vineyards sit exclusively on granitic soils, producing velvet-textured wines. Domaine de Montangeron’s Fleurie, made from old vines and traditional techniques, perfectly captures the elegance and finesse typical of the appellation.
