La Xispa Seleccio

Celler Alimara La Xispa Selecció 2018 is a dry red wine from the Terra Alta region of Catalonia, Spain. Crafted from a blend of 91% Carignan and 9% Grenache grapes sourced from old vines, this wine is produced only in exceptional vintages, with a limited release of approximately 2,000 bottles. The grapes are hand-picked and undergo a five-day cold soak before fermentation in stainless steel tanks at temperatures up to 24°C, with regular punchdowns. Malolactic fermentation and nine months of maturation occur in 300-litre French oak barrels, 20% of which are new. The wine is bottled unfiltered.

Aromas of ripe fig, dark fruits, and cedar. The palate is round and full, featuring smooth tannins and ripe, but not jammy, fruit. It exhibits great concentration, leading to a sustained finish with notes of graphite and subtle spice.

Contains sulphites.
