Tikves Luda Mara Vranec

Tikveš Luda Mara Vranec is a bold and deeply coloured red from North Macedonia, made from the indigenous Vranec grape variety. Rich and full-bodied, it delivers concentrated black fruit flavours alongside notes of dark spice, cocoa and dried herbs. The palate is powerful yet smooth, with ripe tannins and balanced acidity giving the wine structure and warmth without losing freshness.

“Luda Mara” translates roughly as “Crazy Mara”, inspired by a figure from Balkan folklore associated with passion and rebellious spirit. Vranec, whose name means “black stallion”, is North Macedonia’s signature red grape and is prized for producing deeply coloured, intensely flavoured wines. Tikveš Winery, founded in 1885, is one of the oldest and most historic wineries in the Balkans and played a major role in establishing the international reputation of Macedonian wine.
