Oneiric Cousin Jack is a red blend from Elgin, South Africa, combining Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in this cool-climate maritime region. The wine benefits from Elgin’s long, slow ripening season, producing ripe fruit balanced by fresh acidity and fine tannins.
Aromas of black cherry, plum, and subtle cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins, layers of dark fruit, hints of spice, and a fresh, savoury finish.
Contains sulphites.
The “Cousin Jack” name honours the Cornish miners who settled in Elgin in the 1800s. This blend showcases how Elgin’s cooler climate can create refined, structured reds with both ripe fruit and elegance.
