Fully mature and complex with cassis, plum and cedar, earthy spice and tobacco notes, softened tannins and a long, warming finish from this ripe vintage.
Haut-Marbuzet 2003 from Saint-Estèphe is a full-bodied Bordeaux with a deep garnet hue, reflecting the warmth of that exceptional vintage. Predominantly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, it delivers a concentrated core of blackcurrant and plum, layered with notes of graphite, leather and subtle spice. The 2003 vintage, marked by an unusually hot summer, produced wines with ripe, forward fruit yet retained the estate’s classic structure, making it approachable earlier than many Saint- Estèphe wines.

Château Haut-Marbuzet is known for its unorthodox winemaking within Saint-Estèphe, often using higher percentages of Merlot than neighbouring estates, which lends a softer, more approachable style. The estate is also notable for being one of the few in the Médoc where vinification often occurs in small concrete tanks rather than the more common stainless steel, preserving the fruit’s character and enhancing mid-palate richness.
